News Update..Come to Dirty Water Club this Friday March 17thSun, 2006-03-05 10:58 āMike SpenserFor those who listened to last Saturdays show on the stream and found problems we believe it may have been the server. The show will be repeated on this Thursday. March 16th, at 8 am if you missed it 1st time around live. I missed it too! The minidisc was not working to record the show. I have to wait a few more days to get an archived copy of the show from the studio and had no idea what a great show Tokin Britt did for filling in for me. I was preparing to be a guest on my own show with a live preformace with the Cannibals who I sing with. OK, now for some important news of a similar nature (radio) but not related as such to just The Trash Can. I have an active application in with a business partner for a complete full time FM licence in Helsinki where I have done radio before and hope to now have a whole station to play around with. Together with my partner we plan a station with many different types of music and all this is taking up much, if not all, of my time. I have created a new web site dedicated to the proposed new station (we have to win a "beauty contest" which the Finnish government must choose from several players besides ourselves) which will give more details and samples of the music we intend to play on the station. That site, http://www.pirateradiohelsinki.com/, will be up and running in a few days time. I will be mostly there creating some vibe but will be adding a few notes here and adding some more archived shows here as I find more time. Please be patient! It will be worth it. At the same time I need help with both web sites so if anybody has some free time and can come around to my gaf day or evening to help with editing some material and helping to maintain the sites please let me know. Send an email or call if you have the number. I also need people who enjoy other kinds of cool music to help me put some of the sample shows togehter for the new site.....I just need bodies...m/f...I can show you what to do! STRAIGHT FROM THE HARTES NEXT SATURDAY MARCH 4THSun, 2006-02-26 21:29 āsuperadminThis coming Saturday, March 4th, the Hartes who I have featured with a couple of track during the past few shows, will be playing live in the studio and having a little chat as well. For a duo, just drums and guitar, I have been amazed how turned on they make me just listening to their great full trashy sound. Listen in for an exciting session. Paul (PJ) who showed up late this past Saturday due to the fabulously efficient London Transport promises to show up as well to lend a helping hand in the general chaos each show promises. For those listening in this past Saturday remember that all the tech problems were real and not staged and just added to the chaotic feeling each show inevitably has..That's trash for ya! Paul runs the Dirty Water Club and has a handle on most of the new up and coming garage/trash bands around today. He has been my guest on many Trash Cans over the years and it is always an exciting and unpredictable event! Listen in for some great stories of our past and future encounters as more and more bands and punters take notice of his club and the fledging scene developing around it. In the meantime, tune in to Resonance FM (on 104.4 mhz in London and www.resonancefm.com on the net) on Saturday 3:30pm to check out the latest edition of the Trashcan. I go to Paris the weekend to take the Trash Can to Paris Live, the first all English radio station in France. We go on air on AM radio March 24th on 963 khz in Paris and shortly afterwards on FM on 93.1 mhz. It will be a joy to take this music abroad for the second time. Those that followed the Trash Can over the past few years and my stations in Finland know that I mean business. HEY!
